Neo Matloga è nato a Mamaila in Sud Africa, nel 1993.

Ora vive e lavora tra Mamaila e Amsterdam; ha studiato Visual Arts alla University of Johannesburg ed è stato artista residente a De Ateliers, Amsterdam, focalizzando la sua ricerca sulla pittura. Nel 2018 ha vinto il Koninklijke Prijs voor Vrije Schilderkunst. La sua prima personale Good Morning Midnight, del 2018, che ha avuto luogo a De Ateliers, Amsterdam, è seguita da Neo to love, tenutasi al Fries Museum di Leewarden nel 2019.

Matloga è stato nominato per vincere il De Volkskrant Beeldende Kunstprijs nel 219, e nel 2015 figurava tra gli artisti finalisti nel Taxi Art Award.
